LE POSTE :
For one of our clients, a European Institution located in Luxembourg Kirchberg, Sofitex Talent is currently looking for a:
Data Management & Reporting Officer
Support the modernisation of the institution Reporting & Analytics, the extension of BCBS239 compliance scope, and the implementation of data quality and digitalisation initiatives.
The role will contribute to the migration of legacy reporting systems, enhancement of data governance frameworks, and enablement of new IT tools aligned with the institution Group standards.
Reporting line: The incumbent(s) will report to and work under the supervision of the Head of the Data & IT Tools Unit
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting & Analytics Modernisation and BCBS239 Scope Extension
• Assist in the migration of data and reports to the Group Data Warehouse (GDWH), ensuring decommissioning of legacy Business Objects universes;
• Support the expansion of BCBS239 compliance to Financial Statements and Pillar III reports through detailed data mapping and control framework adaptation;
• Apply Group Reporting Governance principles to critical reports developed in Business Object, Tableau and Power BI;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate implementation of BCBS239 in the institution.
2. Data Quality Control Implementation
• Design and implement new or improved data quality checks in IT tools, proactively addressing inconsistencies;
• Assist in compiling evidence of controls execution for critical report and mandate reports;
• Contribute to the identification and log of data quality or report production issues and close monitoring to close the issues;
• Contribute to documentation, control testing, and stakeholder engagement to ensure high data quality standards;
3. Digitalisation Support
• Participate in testing and feedback cycles for tactical tooling related to Data Quality, Data Glossary, and Data Lineage;
• Assist in mapping and validating data migration into new IT tools, ensuring alignment with the institution data structures;
• Follow up on change requests, releases, and access rights reviews to support business ownership of IT tools;
• Contribute to the deployment and maintenance of digital solutions within the institution.
PROFIL RECHERCHÉ :
• University degree, preferably at postgraduate level, in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar fields;
• A minimum of three (3) years' proven experience in data management, reporting, or analytics within a financial or regulatory environment;
• Familiarity with BCBS239 principles and their application in reporting frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, reconciliation processes, and governance structures.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Hands-on experience with Business Object, Tableau, Power BI, and data warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with SharePoint or willingness to learn.
• Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written . Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
This is an opportunity for an initial contract of 2 months, with extensions afterwards.
Salary ranges between 4,500€ and 6,500€ gross per month, depending on experience.

Researchers of the Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Group (EPICAN) of the Department of Precision Health (DoPH) at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) have an opening within the research project RELIANCE: “REaL-life cANCEr epidemiology” which focuses on identifying risk factors for cancer, with particular emphasis on prevention and care. This pluridisciplinary research team is led by Claudine Backes, PhD, Scientific Director of the National Cancer Registry of Luxembourg (Registre National du Cancer (RNC)) and head of the Cancer and Prevention Epidemiology Group (EPICAN) at the LIH.
The RELIANCE population-based research pilot study was initiated under the umbrella of the “Plan National Cancer 2020-2024” (PNC2) and is funded by the Directorate of Health (DiSa) of the Ministry of Health (MiSa) as part of the PNC2. It aimed to investigate cancer epidemiology in Luxembourg for the first time using longitudinal data from the RNC. This study investigated a range of research questions using RNC breast cancer data and explored potential secondary data linkages.
The aim is to provide hands-on experience in activities such as statistical estimation, data linkage, and analysis and visualization of health data. It further supports the development of practical skills in working with real-world datasets, developing reproducible workflows, and producing analytical outputs to support epidemiological research and public health decision-making.
In the context of the continuation of this project, we are recruiting a Master's Student. This student will be co-supervised by Claudine Backes, PhD, and Bruno Lima, PhD, data scientist.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the cleaning, preparation and harmonization of data for analysis;
- Assist the implementation of Reproducible Analytical Pipelines to deliver data products;
- Produce descriptive tables and visualizations to support internal reporting;
- Identify potential external sources for data linkage and integration;
- Contribute to documentation of methods and findings;
- Present preliminary results at project and wider Departmental meetings;
- Join other DoPH or group-based activities.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Master's level in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Data Science, or a related field. Applicants should be enrolled in a Master program and the internship should be a mandatory part of the diploma.
- Experience with R for statistical computing, data analysis and visualization;
- Some experience with Git for version control is helpful, but not mandatory;
- Good writing skills in English. The understanding of another language (French, German, Luxembourgish) used in Luxembourg would be an asset;
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working health-related and sensitive data;
- Good organizational skills and the facility to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and develop tools to automate standardized processes and optimize trade-offs across the full decision space.
- Develop relationships with internal and external partner teams to enrich our collection of data.
- Take the lead on the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale data solutions that have a long-term impact on our mid- and long-term strategic planning.
- Analyze historical data to identify trends and support decision making.
- Identify and tackle intrinsically hard problems. Deliver artifacts that set the standard in your organization for business intelligence excellence, from designs to data models to implementations.
- Improve upon existing methodologies by developing new data sources or architecture enhancements.
- Lead and actively participate in design reviews, aligning teams across your organization towards coherent architectural strategies.
- Conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.
- Collaborate with multiple teams and have cross-team impact.
- Research and benchmark our technology against other competing software in the industry.
- Actively mentor and educate the larger BIE community on trends, technologies, and best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience operating large data warehouses
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

You will be responsible for driving the long-term technical roadmap of Consolidation, also referred to as Units per Box (UPB). As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will enable the creation of products that drive ever-greater automation, scale-ability and optimization of every aspect of consolidation, lowering cost and delivering speed of execution for our customers.
